Generation I: Needle Concealment

This was the beginning of the evolution of the safety syringe devices. The Generation I Syringe is conventional. However Co-axial, or hinged sleeve attachments on the syringe, are manually activated to conceal the sharp needlepoint.

A study by the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed that the Safety-Lok reduced needlesticks by 23%.
